Our current Public Service Commission is a mess. In 2021, my opponent voted against a $9.1 million rebate for NorthWestern customers. We need to elect someone who will cut rates for regular folks instead of cutting deals for big corporations.
Then, last year, Commissioners approved a huge 28% hike on electricity and gas services for NorthWestern’s residential and business customers, giving Northwestern Energy another $100 million from our paychecks. When was the last time your paycheck increased by 28 percent?
Now, the company requested another major increase: 8% for electricity and 16% for natural gas. We need to elect someone who will cut rates for regular folks instead of cutting deals for big corporations.
THE PSC IS A MESS
And Elena's opponent, Jennifer Fielder,
is the Vice President of the PSC.

"I’m running for one reason: to fight for affordable energy for working families and small business owners."
I’m not a Democrat or Republican - I'm a working mom with two kids. I’m running as an Independent for the Public Service Commission because we can’t afford another 28% increase on our power bills.
I have the independence to do what’s right. I will defend Montana’s constitution and protect our public lands from being sold to corporate interests. I will work hard to will reduce our power bills, hold special interests accountable, and bring transparency to the PSC.
As a lifelong public servant, I value professional conduct, honesty, and transparency. I’m a trained geologist, a water quality expert, and the former Director of the Montana Association of Conservation Districts. I know how to build a budget and stick to it. Most importantly, I always read the fine print.
I hope I can count on your vote on or before November 5th!

This campaign has been a grassroots effort from the start.
To qualify for the November ballot, over 158 people from Lincoln County to Ravalli County gathered 6,763 signatures. This incredible - and humbling - support demonstrates that Western Montanans are ready for a new voice on the commission.
Now that we’ve qualified, we start a new phase of the campaign - and I need your support once again to knock doors, raise money, and share information about my candidacy with your friends & neighbors!
